General observations at Bowen Bay

Station KML 112/99: Bowen Bay

Location: south end of Bowen Bay at Ardis Breeze residence via end of Holdings Road; walk along trail and over bridge to house

The north facing shoreline is moderately steep bedrock with a low slope surge channel directed south and extending to the Breeze residence. I observed and videotaped waves entering this channel at 1723, approximately 20 minutes after the Pacificat cruised by Cape Roger Curtis. Large logs were tossed around in the surge channel and extending up to support beams for the residence.

Qualitative observations were made under rocks in a tidal pool adjacent to a surge channel at 4.3 m [near high tide level]. The following species were observed:
